Alldevice allows you to use some keyboard shortcuts to reduce the number of mouse clicks for those who are used to using the keyboard more. While the ESC key has worked from the start, some new combinations are added from version 1.6.34 onwards.
Alt + E – Edit (1.6.34).
Works on the device card and the spare parts card.
Alt + F – Global text search from tasks (1.6.34).
Opens a search window that searches for matches in tasks.
Ctrl + S – Save (1.6.34).
Works on device card, spare parts card, work order.
ESC – Closes the window.
For example, if you are editing on a device card, work order card or spare parts card, the escape key allows you to quickly close the window.
F2 – Rename (1.6.34).
Operates from the devcie tree. If you click on a location and press F2, a rename/edit window opens.
It’s worth remembering that the use of keyboard shortcuts also requires the corresponding privileges. If your user does not have the privilege to change location names (there is no option to do so in the context menu), shortcuts will not help.
If you have any thoughts on which keyboard shortcuts could help make Alldevice more convenient to use, or where the impact of existing shortcuts could be extended, please let us know. We don’t promise that an upgrade will happen overnight but if possible we’ll take it on board and make it happen.
